“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.” – Romans 12:1
There is a version of the gospel that gets shared sometimes, and it sounds something like this: invite Jesus into your life and things will get better. Check the box, say the prayer, and move on. But that is not the gospel. The real gospel is a call to come and die. To lay down your plans, your comfort, your need for control, and surrender fully to Jesus. It sounds costly because it is. But here is what makes it worth everything: when you lay your life down before Him, He gives you something far greater in return. Paul described it this way in Romans 12:1, urging believers to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice. Not a dead one. A living one. That means every ordinary day, every routine moment, every interaction becomes an act of worship when it is offered to God. And something remarkable happens when you live that way. People stop seeing you and they start seeing Jesus. Your life becomes a window, not a wall. The people around you catch a glimpse of something different, something real, something they cannot quite explain but cannot stop thinking about. You do not have to be perfect for this. You just have to be surrendered. That is where transformation begins, and that is where your story starts pointing people toward His.
