The God Who Loves You

By Daily Bread No Comments

For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will.’ – Ephesians 1:4-5

In a world filled with uncertainty and doubt, there’s one truth that remains constant: God’s unwavering love for you. Before you were born, before you took your first breath, before you made your first mistake, God already knew you completely and chose to love you anyway. This isn’t a love based on your performance or worthiness – it’s a love rooted in His very nature. When life feels overwhelming or you question your value, remember that you serve a God who doesn’t just love in general terms, but loves you specifically, personally, and eternally. His love isn’t dependent on your circumstances, your past, or even your faith level. It’s a love that pursued you when you were far from Him and continues to embrace you in every season of life. This foundational truth changes everything about how we see ourselves and approach each day.

Reflection
How does knowing that God chose to love you before you were even born change the way you view yourself today?

Quote
We serve a God that loves us.

Prayer
Father, thank You for loving me unconditionally and choosing me before I could choose You. Help me to rest in this truth when I feel unworthy or forgotten.
