“Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” – John 21:18
Peter watched Jesus die. He stood close enough to feel the weight of it. And then, three days later, the tomb was empty and Jesus was alive. That changed everything for Peter. Not just emotionally, but in the deepest part of who he was. In John 21:18, Jesus told Peter plainly that following Him would eventually lead somewhere Peter would not choose on His own. It was not a comfortable promise. But Peter said yes anyway. Because when you have seen the resurrection up close, surrender stops feeling like loss and starts feeling like the only thing that makes sense. The resurrection is not just a historical event to believe in. It is the foundation that makes going all in possible. When you know that Jesus conquered death, that He is who He says He is, and that He is for you, the cost of following Him looks completely different. You do not have to have it all figured out. You do not have to be free of doubt or past mistakes. You just have to be willing. Willing to say yes to where He leads, even when you cannot see the full picture. The tomb is still empty. Jesus is still standing before you with the same invitation He gave Peter. Do you love Him? Then follow Him. Now is the time to go all in.
