‘Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.’ – Psalm 1:1-2
“I wish God would just tell me what to do.” Have you ever felt this way? Facing a difficult decision, wondering about your future, or struggling with a relationship, you’ve probably wished for a clear, audible voice from heaven giving you specific direction. Here’s the beautiful truth: God does want to speak to you, and He has provided the primary way He communicates with His children. It’s through His Word. When you consistently spend time in Scripture, something amazing happens – you begin to recognize God’s voice, His character, His heart, and His ways. Think about how you recognize the voices of people you love. You don’t need to see your spouse, parent, or best friend to know it’s them calling. Their voice is familiar because you’ve spent time with them. The same principle applies to hearing God’s voice through Scripture. As you read and study the Bible regularly, you’ll start to understand how God thinks, what He values, and how He responds to different situations. When you face decisions, you’ll find yourself naturally asking, “What would align with God’s character as I’ve seen it in His Word?” This isn’t about finding a specific verse for every decision, but about having your mind and heart shaped by God’s truth. Over these five days, we’ve discovered that God’s Word is authoritative, unique, alive, and unchanging. Now comes the practical application: Will you commit to regularly spending time in Scripture so you can learn to recognize and follow God’s voice in your daily life?
