“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach.” – Romans 12:6-8
Have you ever felt inadequate for what God is calling you to do? Perhaps you look at others who seem more talented, more educated, or more spiritual and think, “God could use them, but what could He possibly do with me?” Here’s the liberating truth: God has already given you everything you need to fulfill His purpose for your life today. You don’t need to wait until you’re more qualified, more confident, or more holy. God has prepared you for the purpose He has prepared for you. This doesn’t mean you have every skill you’ll ever need already perfected. Growth is part of the journey. But it does mean that God has strategically equipped you with a unique combination of passions, experiences, and abilities that perfectly position you for your purpose. Your purpose often emerges at the intersection of what you love (passion), what you’re good at (skill), and where there’s a need (opportunity). These aren’t random—they’re divine equipment, carefully distributed by God for His purposes. Today, instead of focusing on what you lack, take inventory of what God has already given you. Those gifts aren’t just for your benefit—they’re meant to be invested in serving others and bringing glory to God.
Reflection
What gifts, talents, or experiences has God given you that might be clues to how He wants to use you in serving others?
Quote
God has prepared you for the purpose that he has prepared for you.
Prayer
God, thank you for equipping me with exactly what I need for the purpose you’ve designed for me. Help me to see my gifts as tools for serving others rather than achievements for my own glory. Show me how to use what you’ve given me to make a difference in the lives around me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
