“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Freedom is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity. From the very beginning in the Garden of Eden, God gave us the ability to choose. He didn’t create robots programmed to follow Him; He created children capable of choosing relationship with Him. This freedom isn’t about doing whatever we want – it’s about having the capacity to choose love, to choose trust, to choose Him. The Good Shepherd leads us into wide open spaces of freedom, not to abandon us, but to walk alongside us. He knows that true abundance isn’t found in confinement but in the freedom to follow Him in trust.
Reflection
How might your relationship with God change if you viewed His guidance not as restriction, but as an invitation to freedom?
Quote
The life that God desires for you is not one that is bound to a pin. Because the Good shepherd knows that abundance doesn’t happen in the pen. It happens in the field.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for the gift of freedom. Help me to use this freedom to draw closer to You, not to wander away. Guide me in using my free will to choose Your ways and Your paths. Amen.
