“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” – Proverbs 4:23

In our digital age, we’re constantly bombarded with messages, opinions, and attitudes that can shape our hearts without us even realizing it. What we allow into our hearts eventually comes out through our words. That’s why it’s crucial to be intentional about what we consume – the social media we scroll through, the conversations we engage in, the content we watch. When we guard our hearts and fill them with what’s true, noble, and pure, our words naturally follow suit. Think of your heart like a garden – what you plant and tend to is what will grow.

Reflection
What specific inputs in your life might be influencing your speech patterns, and what changes could you make to better guard your heart?

Prayer
Lord, help me be more mindful of what I allow into my heart. Give me wisdom to filter out what doesn’t align with Your truth and fill my heart with things that are pure and life-giving. Amen.
