‘Regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David.’ – Romans 1:3
The gospel centers entirely on Jesus Christ. Everything in the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, points to Him. The Old Testament anticipates His coming, and the New Testament reveals His life, death, and resurrection. Jesus is the heart of the gospel, and our faith is anchored in Him. Paul makes it clear that the gospel is all about Jesus. It is not about religious rituals or moral achievements but about a relationship with Christ. This focus on Jesus is what gives the gospel its power. He is the one who brings us salvation and transforms our lives. As we study Romans, let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the source of our hope and the foundation of our faith. By centering our lives on Him, we can experience the fullness of the gospel’s power.
Reflection
How can you keep Jesus at the center of your life and faith?
Quote
Everything in our Bibles, both Old Testament and New Testament point to one person — Jesus. The Old Testament is the anticipation of Christ. Gospel is the presentation of Jesus, Acts is the continuation of the work of Jesus, the Epistles are the clarification and explanation of Jesus and Revelation is the consummation by Jesus.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being the center of the gospel. Help me to keep my focus on You and to live my life in a way that honors You. Amen.
