“But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.” – Ephesians 2:13

One of the most profound ways grace transforms us is by giving us a new position with God. Before Christ, we were separated from God by our sin. But through Jesus, we’ve been brought near. This new position isn’t something we earned—it’s a gift of grace. Justification is the theological term for this new position. It means that God has declared us righteous based on Christ’s work, not our own. When God looks at us now, He doesn’t see our failures and shortcomings. Instead, He sees us through the lens of Christ’s perfect righteousness. This truth should radically change how we approach God. We don’t need to hide in shame or fear. We don’t need to perform to earn His love. We can come boldly into His presence, confident in our position as His beloved children. Today, let this truth sink deep into your heart: your position with God is secure not because of what you’ve done, but because of what Christ has done. You are accepted, loved, and valued—not because you’ve earned it, but because of grace.

Reflection
How would your daily interactions with God change if you truly believed that He sees you through the lens of Christ’s righteousness rather than your failures?

Quote
When God looks at you, he no longer sees you through the lens of your sin. He sees you through the lens of Christ.God sees the fullness of who he created you to be, because you are standing in the righteousness of Jesus.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for bringing me near through the blood of Christ. Help me to live confidently in this new position, approaching You with boldness rather than fear. May I never forget that my standing with You is based on Christ’s work, not my own. Amen.
