Words are powerful. More powerful than we often realize. When the twelve spies returned from scouting the Promised Land, ten of them came back with a fear-filled report. Yes, the land was good. But the obstacles felt too big. Their words spread like a virus through the entire camp, and an entire generation missed what God had promised them. One report. Devastating consequences. Proverbs 18:21 tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue. What you say about your situation matters. It does not mean pretending problems do not exist. Faith is not denial. But faith does insist on giving God the final word, not the problem. Think about how you talk about your circumstances. Do your words reflect trust in a big God, or do they reinforce the size of your problems? There is a difference between acknowledging a struggle and letting that struggle narrate your life. You can say, “I have got problems, but God is good.” That is not ignoring reality. That is reordering it. Start speaking what God says about your situation, and watch how it begins to shift not just your words, but your faith.
